High-quality Photos for a Successful Marketing of Your Home
Written By Betty Grady
Real estate marketing takes a variety of forms, including online listings, print advertising in newspapers, and possibly flyers and direct mail as well. The difference between effective real estate marketing and bad often lies in the quality of the images of your home that you are showing in advertising.
Regardless of the advertising means you have chosen, photographs of both the interior and exterior of your house are a must. You'll find the tips given below most useful when taking photos of your home, in case you don't want to resort to the services of a professional photographer.
The outside photos of your home should be taken only when the sun is fully shining on it. Otherwise, the selling points will appear unclear in the photos, if at all, and your home will lose appeal.
When photographing the front of your house, try to focus on any selling point that makes it special, such as a pond, or a porch. Make sure the garden is neat and tidy before taking the shot!
Close-ups are preferable to wider shots if the buyer is to have a clear image of your house.
4. When photographing inside the house, let in as much natural light as you can, and put electric lights on too.
5. Close ups of polished wooden floors, the fireplace mantel or other special features give buyers a reason to pick up the phone.
You might want to be watchful of the mirrors when taking photos of your bathrooms, unless you want to show in them and market yourself as well.
If you want to have a lot of inside photos to pick from, then it is best if you take several of each and every room in your home.
8. Tidy up and clear out all clutter before taking any photographs, and keep people and pets out of the photos.
Printed material requires high-resolution photographs, so make sure you set your camera right. Turning a high-resolution into a low-resolution photo is easily done, if you need it for online advertising, but the reverse is an impossibility.
10. Add plants and flowers to the rooms before you take the photos. This way you will put some color into it and make it seem more lively.
Clients should be able to feel a certain emotion about your house from these photos. Therefore, buyers will be much more attracted to your house if they are presented with high-quality photographs. Try to arrange the photos as best you can in your marketing material to make it look as attractive as possible and be sure to look it over before any printing is done.
If you want your phone ringing off the hook when marketing your home, great photos of your home can make that happen. The one thing that starts things rolling in real estate marketing is the first call, after which the real estate agent can take over and handle the rest until the deal is done.
