In Teen Titans: Trouble In Tokyo when Robin and Starfire were on top of a building, Starfire told Robin that on Tamaran, "lip contact" is just the transfer of information but that she heard that it means more on Earth (but in Betrothed, Blackfire says that Starfire has to kiss her new hubby which confuses me) and it is obvious that they want to kiss each other (they do at the end). So, I was just wondering how do Tamaraneans show affection when they are in relationships with other Tamaraneans (specifically what is their version of a kiss)?
This is ,of course, based on the comics. Tamaraneans absorb language and some small other info through body contact. The first thing that happened when Robin and Starfire met in the comics was she planted a big kiss on him to absorb the ability to speak English.
As far as kissing and intimacy: Tamaraneans are VERY liberal with affection and love. They are passionate beings. (Again, from the comics: the "do it" ALOT)
All this would be toned down for the animated series.

Umm.. probably soft facial contact (like brushing your hand on their cheek) what Starfire told Robin might’ve been a lie, or an excuse to kiss him.

hmmm thats a good question. i never wondered that. haha i watched that episode "bethrothed" today. lol anyways umm. im not quite sure but theres a different with "lip contact" and an actual kiss. im guessing like when robin and starfire kiss, its a kiss thats has meaning cuz like they like each other….but just a kiss for info has no meaning.
idk rlly, but who knows maybe tamaraneans kiss in a different way. o.o idk wat buuut yea. srry if i wasnt much help
