  • What does it mean when a ring is engraved with ‘Starfire’?

Posted by admin on December 19th, 2009 and filed under starfire |

I have an older diamond ring (not sure of the exact age, but it belonged to my great aunt) and on the inside it is engraved with the word ‘Starfire’. Is this a type of diamond? Does anyone know about the quality? Also, is there any way I can tell how many carats it is, or is that something only a jeweler can tell me? Thanks!!

Its a type of cut for the diamond. You would have to take it to a jeweler to find out any more info as the cut can be used on any quality of diamond. It could be worth $100 OR $100,000. :)

I have never heard of a diamond cut called starfire. I would think that it’s the manufacturer rather than the diamond cut. You can estimate the carat if you can measure the diameter. There are lists available online where you can check the equivalent carat weight.
