I was always told to answer both the questions in the UC prompt 1. Describe the world i come from and how its shaped my dreams and aspirations. But I want to talk about something thats really effected me but didn’t really shape my dreams and aspirations. What do i do?
If what you want to discuss has really changed who you are, it would have shaped your future goals to some extend. Think about and discuss how it has changed you and how it changed your outlook on life and your goals.

I think you are taking a risk in not following the instructions exactly. The ability to follow instructions is one of the areas which the essay tests. Also, you mean affected. I know it’s not a typo as it occurs twice in your question. Check these words in the dictionary. If you use the wrong one in an essay, it could be a reason for the reader to consider the essay to deserve an F. I’m serious about this and hope I have prevented you from receiving one. Best wishes.
