That number would obviously be based on speculation and basically scientific guessing, but yes, some percentage of the population would likely be immune to it.
As for implications, I think it is more telling that New York has passed a law that all health care workers must be vaccinated for the flu. They felt it was necessary to pass this legislation because only 7% of doctors and nurses get vaccinated in a given year. The top two reasons cited for not being vaccinated- They dont think it works and They think the shot might do more harm than good.
That is from doctors and nurses! If they- who have been educated on the benefits and methods of innoculation- arent convinced, why should anyone else be?
