So today in science, we were disguising something about a desert when all of a sudden my teacher brings up something about this snake thats piss is a solid. I’m sorry but this sounded really cool to me. She said its comes out almost looking like a yellow pebble. Im just curious, whats the name of this snake?
All snakes have this adaptation to help them conserve water. They do not have a bladder, so do not pass liquid waste in the form of urine the way we do - instead, uric acid is excreted as a semi-solid white mass, which quickly hardens and becomes chalky. It does make it easy to clean up after them!

Most snakes, especially desert snakes, excrete their urine as a solid. They have to conserve their water, so they absorb it all, and the urea is released as a solid. Some desert snakes are the rattlesnake, sidewinders, and cobras. Hope this helps!

I used to be a zookeeper, where I looked after numerous snakes, and have kept and studied them for years.
